NEW BUSINESS: InterMedNet S.A. website: www.intermednet.net
Our Mission: to help Americans find the most cost effective medical and dental care possible in Costa Rica as a viable alternative to the fast-increasing high cost of major medical procedures in the U.S.
InterMedNet serves as a medical concierge organization, assisting its clients in selecting the best medical and dental provider for their needs; taking care of hotel and local transportation arrangements; facilitating interaction between patient and provider; and ensuring that all client expectations are met.
Since this is a new business, our website is still under construction, as we continue to develop our arrangements with preferred providers in Costa Rica, all of whom must be competent in English and dedicated to providing the highest
standards of care at reasonable cost. Your suggestions for inclusion in our provider database are welcome. But read on for information about our first
contract:
INTERMEDNET'S INITIAL SERVICE: MEDICAL PRESCRIPTIONS FOR AMERICANS/PARTNERSHIP WITH CLINICA BIBLICA
InterMedNet has teamed with Hospital Clinica Biblica in San Jose to offer a special service for Americans who wish to receive their medical prescriptions from the United States and need to have the prescription ordered by a U.S. licensed physician.
If you are an American living in Costa Rica, this service may help you!
Many U.S. insurance companies will reimburse only for prescriptions written by a U.S. licensed physician, and this is especially true for retired Federal employees under the Federal Employees Health Benefits plans (FEHB). The most important benefits are these: 1) prescriptions are valid for one full year,
dispensed in 90-day increments; 2) cost is much less (typically $60/year) and very convenient; 3) all meds are FDA-approved -- no more guessing! and, 4) you will get a medical check-up at Central America's premier hospital, Clinica Biblica, prior to having their U.S. licensed doctor write the prescriptions and fax them directly to your mail order pharmacy in the States.
Maybe it's time for your annual check-up anyway?
IMPORTANT: As active members of CRL, we are painfully aware of the problems some members have had in getting their medications from the US through CR
customs. InterMedNet has field tested our procedure and we believe it satisfies the requirements of CR customs, allowing you to receive your medications within 10-14 days via your preferred courier (e.g., Aerocasillas, Correos, etc.), although you may be asked to submit to the courier the factura (statement) which
you will receive from your mail order pharmacy, along with the Clinica Biblica prescription.
If you are interested in taking advantage of this service, please go to the InterMedNet website to see the details, complete the very simple reply form and hit: SUBMIT. We'll set up your appointment, and you'll pay only the hospital's consultation fee plus any lab work, and your pharmacy charges, all of these reimbursable through your insurance. You pay nothing to InterMedNet. We invite
you to give it a try at: www.intermednet.net
