3 bedroom, 2 bath, beachhouse plus a 1 bedroom, 1 bath caretaker’s cottage on approximately two acres. On the beach between Limón and Cahuita. It’s about a 25 minute drive to Limón and about 40 minute drive to Cahuita. The main house is approximately 1850 square feet, remodeled to American standards, and has ceramic tile throughout. Kitchen has double stainless steel sinks and white cabinets with acrylic countertops. Large food prep island, lazy-susan corner cabinet. Appliances that stay with the house include a six burner gas range, and a large side by side refrigerator/freezer with ice and water on the door. There are large sliding glass windows with screens throughout the house to take advantage of the breezes and beautiful views. There are ceiling fans throughout. The huge master bedroom has a custom hand carved built-in wooden closet containing drawers and TV alcove behind mirrored sliding doors. Large master bath has double glass sinks with mirrored cabinets, a commode, a bidet, and glass block steps leading up to a two person whirlpool tub and shower. The second bedroom has custom-built closet with drawers and TV alcove hidden behind sliding mirrored doors. The third bedroom has custom-built security closet with triple locking deadbolt. Ceramic tiled 60 foot covered patio runs the full length in the front of the house. There is also a 30 foot covered patio on the back of the house that provides a place to have your morning coffee and enjoy the mountain views. If you walk 450 feet in front of the house you can fish in the Caribbean Sea. Or if you prefer, you can fish off the back patio in one of the best fishing rivers in Costa Rica. The house is well protected by a government built and maintained retaining wall to protect the house from flooding. The house has been here for 40 years and has never been flooded. The house is constructed of concrete block filled with rebar and cement. The roof is heavy duty metal with metal rafters. There is a small utility room for the washer and dryer and the washer and dryer both stay with the house. The place has a well that has great tasting water. There is another building that houses the water storage tank, the water pressurizing system, the hot water heater, the propane tank, plus room to store hand tools and landscaping tools. There are lots of coconut trees, breadfruit trees, nonis, lime trees, and grapefruit trees. The house sits toward the end of a dead end road and the beach is almost always deserted. It is a very peaceful and quiet setting.
Because this property is on the beach, it is Concession land which is like a 99 year lease. You have all the same rights as you would have with titled property. However, there is a bill in progress with the government to have the land converted to Titled property. The land on the west coast was changed to Titled property a few years ago and this side of the country should follow suit within the next year.
