Dear friends, I am writing here at the suggestion of Jeff Fischer who has been along time friend and donor of ours. I am the director of the Costa Rican Humanitarian Foundation and our organization works all over the country to educate, heal, assist and support at risk populations. We do a lot of work in La Carpio and have three schools there to get children in a healthy environment. This year, we had a very succesful volunteer time, however, due to the uncertain times we live in and the travel risks, we had fewer total volunteers. Although we met all our goals, including building walls for 13 houses, camp for more than 500 youth, soccer teams sponsored and houses painted, we are left financially strapped at this time. We give a stipend to each of 27 women in the communities so they can work and raise the children well. We are not able to pay the women this week because of the financial downturn. I invite anyone who can to come and meet the women and see the projects. They are extraoridinary and are the reason why La Carpio is much less socially unstable than it could be. We appreciate all your gestures of kindness, support and belief in our work.. Best, Gail Nystrom Director Costa Rican Humanitarian Foundation crhf.org facebook: fundacionhumanitariacr

Hi Gang: I wanted to urge you all to check out the website and facebook page for the Costa Rica Humanitarian Foundation, a group I have been donating to and following since i first met Gail Nystrom back in 1994. The fact that a former Peace Corp volunteer decided to stay in her host country for over 25 years is remarkable enough, but to continually benefit that country by her selfless actions, is worthy of our financial and heartfelt support. Please visit the website www.crhf.org and her facebook page to learn a little bit about the incredible things Gail has been doing for the past 25 plus years and donate, either your time or money, either once through paypal or on a monthly basis, you'll be rewarded in so many wonderful ways. For those of you who used to "tithe" to the former Costa Rica's Unity Church. why not consider tithing to the Costa Rica Humanitarian Foundation instead? I am very glad I did...... thanks, respectfully yours. Jeff www.crhf.org/ or the easy way: http://www.crhf.org Costa Rican Humanitarian Foundation facebook: www.facebook.com/CRHumanitarianFoundation/
