Need a Personeria Juridica? Just in case you haven't heard, you can now register with the Registro Nacional for online consultations and certifications. This means you don't have to go to your local Registro Nacional office, or your attorney, to get a certified copy of a Personeria Juridica, or other certified document. The online cost is ¢2,798.50 and you can print the document on your own printer. The person/entity requesting the document can then go online, enter the document's certificate number and verify it's authenticity. If you haven't registered yet, here is the link www.rnpdigital.com/shopping/login.jspx

There is a message posted on the site that as of 8/31 the site has been shut down by the government due to fraudulent acitivity. I think it's because the court ruled they can't charge for copies anymore, either way it's not available.

The Registro site works just fine... its just that you can't order certificates, you need to go to the Registro like always and get them. Some lawyers from the Colegio thought that they should be free as such information is government controlled public records and there is a constitutional guarantee for access to public records. According to the Sala 4a decision, the collecting of money by the Registro is the point, NOT that they are charging for the info... and the site is NOT shut down (which would cause another Sala Quartazo!)
